Assignment I - "Seeing Through the Camera" |
Purose: To familiarize yourself with the camers and produce a series of photographs that show how the camera works. Procedure: A) Go out and around the school area and shoot subjects of your choice within the following conditions: 1) 2 shots of eye level viewpoint 2) 2 shots of low viewpoint 3) 2 shots of high viewpoint 4) 2 shots of odd viewpoint 5) remainder of the roll is your choice B) Record the following on your checklist: 1) Frame # 2) f-stop 3) shutter speed 4) subject and type of effect Don't forget to: 1) focus on your subject 2) set the light meter 3) keep the shutter speed at 60 or above. C) Develop the film, and give it to your teacher so that he/she can check the quality and do any possible troubleshooting. D) Write an analysis that explains in narrative from (NOT POINT FORM): a) The process/steps involved in producing your work. b) If you had problems with the negs, describe them (please refer to the "troubleshooting" sheet on the light table). c) Describe any other challenges you encountered. What would you do differently next time? d) Has this been a good learning experience? Why/why not? E) Make one 3 X 5 print and one 8 X 10 contact sheet. F) Assemble all components of your assignment on bristleboard, in a professionally presentable way. You must also submit test strips and shot logs. |
